Saygood helps you practice languages by having text and voice conversations with AI partners. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account info (only if you sign in): your Apple ID identifier or email address, used to sync your data across your devices.
- Voice audio during calls: your microphone audio is streamed in real time to power the live conversation and its transcription. It is processed transiently to generate the partner's response and the on-screen transcript; we do not retain your raw call audio on our servers after the call.
- Conversations & learning data: your text messages, call transcripts, saved phrases, settings, and progress. These are stored on your device, and — only if you sign in — backed up to our servers so they sync across your devices.
- Purchase status: whether you have an active subscription (via our payments provider). We never see your card details.
- Basic app/usage data and a random install identifier, used for reliability and abuse prevention (e.g., rate-limiting AI image generation).
Service providers who process data to run the app
- Google (Gemini API) — powers the AI conversations, transcription, and text-to-speech.
- Inworld — used for certain voice features.
- Cloudflare — hosts our backend and stores your synced account data.
- RevenueCat + Apple — manage subscriptions and payments.
- MuAPI — generates optional AI partner photos when you request one.
These providers process data only to deliver the service.
How we use it
To run your conversations, sync your data if you sign in, manage your subscription, and keep the app secure. We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.
Your controls
You can use the core app without an account. If you sign in, Settings → Delete account permanently erases your synced data from our servers and your data on the device. You may request access or deletion at any time by emailing us.
Retention
On-device data lives until you delete it or uninstall; synced data lives until you delete your account. Call audio is not retained after the call.
Children
Saygood is for users 17+. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your regional rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., California/CCPA, EU/UK GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.
Changes
We'll update this page and the effective date when this policy changes.
